Our aim is to accumulate up to one million miles of community activity over the summer, raising at least £1 of sponsorship per mile of activity undertaken, whilst at the same time encouraging local people to get fit and healthy. We need to spread the word and get as many people involved as possible. So if you know someone who fancies a challenge, or is already undertaking a regular activity, let them know, their efforts could raise thousands of pounds for four important local charities:
South Kent Mind
Your local mental health charity, here to support anyone with mental health challenges. Offering a wide range of services to all, including counselling, guidance and activities. They are passionate about promoting the preservation and safeguarding of mental health, and the relief of persons suffering from mental health disorders.
The Rainbow Centre
delivers a range of services in Folkestone & Hythe District to provide support and hope to individuals and families experiencing deprivation or hardship. Our approach is to help people out of crises so that they can sustain themselves. Services include the Shepway Foodbank, Winter Shelter and Family Contact Centre.
The Sports Trust
The Sports Trust has been a part of Folkestone, Hythe and Romney Marsh celebrating sport as a powerful tool for social improvement. our work across schools, sports clubs and the local community dismantles barriers to participation in sport and promotes our firm belief that sport and exercise are essential components of a healthy and united society.
Channel Rotary
Folkestone based Channel Rotary have been fundraising for local, national and international charities since 1980. The Million Miles project will be raising money for their hardship fund which aims to support the local community in times of hardship.
